SOOO good! I loved this article, the combination of science with everything you experienced & experience, all you tried & just this trust in yourself & your body you developed! I resonate with so much of it, without even having CPTSD or anxiety or such & that is a sign for me that it is generally applicable to all of us, cos I deeply feel it as the Daria = N=1 that I am. That is how it starts & this N=1 is sometimes the only thing that counts.

Thank you Daria :)

When it comes down to it "N=1 is sometimes the only thing that counts" as you say, is so true. When we learn to pull back the layers that are preventing us from validating our own experience without the singular reliance on external (often corrupted) reference, a lot of doors open that's for sure.

Thanks a bunch for little me know your thoughts and glad that it resonated as it did 🙏 🙏 🙏

You are more than welcome :)! You know, it helps to accept my personal N=1 experiments, when I read studies that claim to have synthesized a molecule that mimics exercise & fasting in humans, based on giving it to 8 rats in an amount equivalent to eating a nutella jar as a 80kg human 😂🤣😅

Thank you for sharing this Jas. I resonate deeply and plan to read over a few times to absorb each layer. When you spoke about your 3 ‘break downs’ I started crying. I have felt so much shame after my third one. I’ve done so much work on myself over the years so why do I find myself in the same situation? Burnt out, panic attacks and a desolate feeling of unbearable isolation. You have made me realise that I’m still operating with an over functioning alert system and that it’s time for somatic work. To listen to what my body has been trying to tell me for years. Talk therapy has had its time in the sun.

Thank you again and I look forward to your next posts 🌸

Hey Paula,

Thank you for taking the time to write. I'm sorry to hear of your pain and the repetitive nature, you don't deserve that. I hope that you find comfort in that reality that is it human, confirmed by that fact that at the very least there is another one of you out there (me :) ). In realising that it can help in placing some distance between the reactions and our sense of self worth/ shame and see it as a human problem under circumstances that any human who walked in your shoes would experience. Once we do that, the opportunity arises for allowing space to access the intelligence that resides in us all, and see how the body can take us back to safety, play and creativity. I'll be cheering on your somatic journey and what healing that brings.

Sending strength this weekend 💙💙💙,

Jas

This is outstanding, Jas. Thank you for sending out into the world such important, valuable and hard won wisdom and guidance. What you went through to know what you do…I am so very sorry for your suffering, relieved you found the help you needed, while also grateful to you for sharing what you learned from your experience. Will take a few reads for me to fully absorb, but so much already resonates.

Loved your tribute to your grandfather and those who have helped you. As I read, I thought, “Jas is standing on the shoulders of giants.”

Thank you 🙏🏻

Hey there Helen,

Warms me to read your words, really does. As my therapist always reminds me, "what if we saw this as a teacher we didn't ask for? What would that look like?"

Can't imagine what life would be like without the deep journeys that have been presented.

And very very true, finding the right table of mentors is non-negotiable, and paying our respects to their hard fought lessons that are shared are certainly due.

Best regards,

Jas 🤗
